BSN/Facebook: Tech Career Experiences Through a Legal Lens

On 3 March, we hosted an event in partnership with Facebook exploring tech career experiences through a legal lens with host Anna Benckert, VP, Head of Legal, EMEA at Facebook, panellists Barry Fishley, Partner and Head of the Technology and IP Transactions Practice, London, Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, Geofrey Banzi, Legal Technologist at KPMG, and Nicolette Myrie, Data Protection Counsel at Facebook. 

We explored questions such as:

What is a tech lawyer?  Do you need a tech background?  What advice would you give to those considering a career in legal tech?  What resources are out there to assist with this journey?  What challenges and opportunities are involved in a legal tech career?  What is the importance of diversity in the legal tech sector?  What builds a diverse environment that ensures retention and promotion? 

The event was well-attended and insightful; the audience was well-engaged throughout the event and during the Q&A section.  Of those who completed the event feedback survey,100% rated the panel session as Excellent and Good overall.  Thank you to the team at Facebook for working with us to organise this fantastic event and thank you to our host and panellists for their valuable contributions to the discussions.
